LEANNE

Mother of 2, one University student and one high school student in the Nanaimo Ladysmith School District. Professionally Leanne has a background in Accounting and Office Management. In her spare time, you will find her carpooling basketball players to their games and on the sidelines watching high school basketball. She is grateful to live, work and play on the unceded and traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.

Leanne has spent the last 8 years on the Executive of the District Parent Advisory Council of SD 68, and the last 4 years in the role of President. In this role, she has brought the parent voice to the table at SD 68 committee meetings. She has liaised with staff on many committees including Educational Technology Advisory Group, Safe Schools, Assessment, Long Range Facilities Plan, and both the Environmental and Business Committees. She has facilitated the delivery of providing parent education to the district by hosting parent presentations and sharing information with the district's PACs. She is extremely proud of the work she's been involved in on behalf of SD 68 parents.

This combined experience has prepared her to be a successful Trustee.
